โผ๏ธ5. 3 principles that I've learned from ๐คJob negotiation
Job Negotiation is tough always.
For several years, I've gone through several interview processes and following discussions while I was open to work. And each time I've tried job negotiation, I failed to achieve the desired range of compensations. Now I know that negotiation is the more of soft skill that we should learn through personal experiences and extensive researches. If I were put on the same chair again, I would make sure to apply 3 principles that I've learned from past experiences.
here is the 3 principles below.
1๏ธโฃ You are choosing your chance of life,
and no one can blame about it.
I was pretty afraid to make a counter offer or suggest a new option to the company since I thought the company is entitled to choose me. But the choice should be based on your decision, not anyone else. You should be proactive with your situation and find the best way of benefiting yourself and company at the same time.
2๏ธโฃ Provide the vision and benefits that company would expect to have if you were hired by them.
This is the first universal principle that I've learned from multiple workspaces. Your value is not evaluated by past experience, but by the value that you are expecting to bring with. You must prepare the giveaway and promises when you want something valuable from others.
3๏ธโฃ There is no forever "no" unless you shut it off.
I remembered when I've tried to get a chance for the internship from the career fair, I've not obtained enough attentions from recruiters, and my paper resumes would be not seen through for sure. Don't fall into the perspective that one shot decides everything. You have a machine gun which can shoot to the target several times with various approaches. I've got internship offer from the company which I've applied but neglected after I've attended other events by myself.
I'm still learning from my experience, and others' advises and articles.
