What is a Motion PDF?

A Motion PDF is a web-based interactive document format that allows users to embed interactive contents, such as videos, GIFs, and links, directly into their PDF documents. These interactive elements enhance the reader's experience and engagement.

Visitor experience

When a visitor opens a Motion PDF, it will launch in the Feat Paper viewer in a new tab, creating a seamless and hassle-free experience. This process does not require the recipient to undertake any additional actions, such as downloading a software or creating an account.

Note: Sharing and viewing a Feat Paper document require an online environment.

How to create a Motion PDF

With Feat Paper, you can enrich your PDF documents by embedding interactive contents from platforms like Youtube, websites, or your local device. Follow these straightforward steps:
  1. Go to the Document Dashboard
  1. Click on the Motion PDF button
  1. Identify the page where you wish to embed interactive content
  1. Click VIDEO路GIF路LINK
  1. Choose the content type from the tab and embed your chosen content
  1. Position the content and adjust its size as necessary
  1. Save your changes by clicking SAVE & EXIT

Note: These modifications are specific to the Feat Paper documents and are not reflected in the original PDF file or in PDFs downloaded after these adjustments.

Videos

In the VIDEO tab, you can embed videos by either uploading a video file from your device or by adding a YouTube or Vimeo link. Additional video settings include:
  • Auto Play: Automatically starts playing the video when a visitor opens the page.
  • Loop Play: Sets the video to play on a continuous loop. Please note that this feature is not compatible with YouTube videos.
  • Mute: Mutes the video by default.

GIFs

In the GIF tab, you can embed GIFs by either uploading a GIF file from your device or by adding a GIF link.
In the LINK tab, you can embed links by inserting a URL. This creates a button that directs visitors to the provided link. When the page is opened, the button is highlighted, and clicking it opens the link in a new browser window.
  • Existing links included in the original PDF file will remain accessible.
In the NAV tab, you can embed page navigations within the same document by specifying a page number. This creates a button that directs visitors to the designated page. When the page is opened, the button is highlighted, and clicking it takes visitors to the designated page.
  • Existing page navigations included in the original PDF file will remain accessible.
